Six Arrested for Violating Prohibitory Order

Surkhet police arrested six individuals for violating the prohibitory order. Those arrested include members of student wings of political parties who were holding a meeting inside Surkhet Multiple Campus,and Gen-z activists who were organizing a press conference at a hotel.

According to DSP Mohanjang Budhathapa of the District Police Office, Surkhet, the arrested include Badri Bohara, 33, from Kanka Sundari-5, Jumla, Mahesh Kathayat, 18, from Pachaljharna-3, Kalikot, Mohan Thapa, 31, from Birendranagar-8, Surkhet, Prem Budha, 24, from Tilagufa-1, Kalikot, Pushparaj Shahi, 26, from Shubhakalika-3, and Milan Basnet, 18, from Pachaljharna-3. DSP Budhathapa stated that they arrested the six main individuals from the two locations for violating the prohibitory order. Others were counseled and sent home. The individuals were holding a press conference at the Namaste Hotel in Birendranagar-6 at 12 PM on 11 September to discuss about the government formation at the center. They had also gathered people at the Campus, thereby violating the prohibitory order.

A dispute arose in Surkhet over the leadership of Gen-Z in Karnali during a press conference organized by Sunil Shahi, who is regarded as a coordinator of the Gen-Z protest. After Sunil Shahi’s side released a statement presenting an agenda that included Raja, Suvarna Thapa’s team objected.
