Students at the Dewal Basic School are facing difficulties commuting to school due to the lack of a bridge over Tumcha Badkhola in Sarkegad Rural Municipality–1. According to Prakash Malla, a Local, continuous heavy rainfall has caused muddy floods in the river creating problems for around 80 children attending the school. He said that when the water level in the river rises, they have to take risks by crossing it to get the children to school.

The water level is low during the winter and people cross the river on foot, but during the rainy season, the rising water causes problems for commuting. Locals complain that this issue affects not only the students but the entire community every year. The river which lies on the border between Sarkegad and Adanchuli Rural Municipalities, has the school on one side, while on the other side is the entire settlement of Chhatyalbada of Sarkegad Rural Municipality-1. Some students from Adanchuli Rural Municipality also study at this school.
