Farmers in Madhesh Province are facing difficulties due to the lack of rainfall during the monsoon season. The unfavorable weather conditions have significantly disrupted the paddy plantation process across the province. Most of the cultivable land has dried up, leading the farmers to be stressed out. The water crisis in Madesh has led to shortage of drinking water even in tube wells and ponds. Although a few farmers are managing to irrigate their fields using water from borings or tube wells, the majority are struggling. Due to the ongoing drought, most paddy fields have started to crack due to dry soil, and seedbeds prepared for transplantation are beginning to dry out as well.
