The Kapilvastu District Court has sentenced Ramprakash Yadav,19, of Babhudihawa, Buddhabhumi Municipality-7, to one year and six months in prison for the rape of a 12-year-old minor. According to Kamal Kumar Acharya, registrar at the District Court, the bench of Judge Maheshwar Khanal on 23 July 2025 gave the following verdict to Yadav along with a fine of Rs. 10,000, compensation of Rs. 25,000 to be paid to the victim, and an additional Rs. 400 to be deposited in the victim relief fund.
The aggrieved party had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on 21 June 2024 alleging that the incident took place on the same day. Police had arrested the accused from his residence on 21 June 2024.
The health examination of the victim was done the same day at Kapilvastu Hospital, Taulihawa.
