According to Court Registrar Prem Prasad Paudel, the District Court has met the targets set in its Annual Work Plan for the fiscal year 2024/2025, ensuring no cases have exceeded 18 months, and resolving all cases involving child defendants. Additionally, only 11 cases have exceeded one year. When comparing case resolution rates from past fiscal years following the implementation of the National Code in 2017, the Sindhupalchok District Court had a 55% success rate in 2019/2020. The rate was 40.91% in 2020/2021, 59.62% in 2021/2022, 77% in 2022/2023, and 73% in 2023/2024. In the fiscal year 2024/2025, the court recorded the highest success rate in its history, resolving 81.04% of cases.
Registrar Paudel added that out of the total fines amounting to Rs. 80,98,77,642, the court has recovered Rs. 7,69,39,643. He stated that a significant portion of the fines is to be collected from foreign nationals, which has posed a challenge in the process. The District Court has achieved success by remaining committed to its goal of delivering fair, prompt, and accessible justice, and by adopting measures to address challenges along the way.
