Sudip Sharma Khatwa, 42, of Shiva Mandir Tole in Inaruwa Municipality-9, killed his 33-year-old wife Navita Khatun and then died by suicide.
According to DSP Yograj Khatiwada of the Area Police Office, Dharan, the accused strangled his wife during a domestic dispute on July 13 and then took his own life by hanging himself with a sari. DSP Khatiwada stated that Sudip had married Navita as his second wife 10 years ago, and their relationship had not been good since then.
The bodies have been kept at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Ghopa, Dharan, for post-mortem.
