A family of four, including a nine-year-old boy from Ramprasadrai Rural Municipality-1, Dhotlekhani, has been killed. According to the police, 30-year-old Rajendra Rai of Bhojpur Municipality-2, Helaucha, went to his in-laws’ house on July 5 and fatally attacked his 68-year-old father-in-law Belbahadur Giri, 45-year-old mother-in-law Manju Giri, 15-year-old wife, and nine-year-old brother-in-law with a khukuri.
DSP Yuvraj Timilsina of the Bhojpur District Police Office said that the police have reached the incident site and started an investigation. Police stated that an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the killings. According to the police, after killing the four members of his in-laws’ family, the accused Rajendra Rai himself called the police and informed them about the incident.
Police reported that Rajendra Rai married the minor by eloping with her when she was very young. DSP Timilsina said police found Rajendra injured at the scene and took him to Bhojpur District Hospital for treatment. Police are now investigating the incident.
