Jibaraj Chaudhary, 33, of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-2, a detainee in Ghorahi Jail has lost his life. Chaudhary, who had been sent to jail for pre-trial detention on 22 June, suddenly fainted around 9 pm on 2 July. The jail administration took him to Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, Ghorahi for treatment, where he died during treatment at around 10:30 pm. According to Arjun Prasad Timilsina, Chief of District Police Office Dang, the body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem on 3 July.
Chaudhary, who had been suffering from heart and liver problems and was under medication. He was arrested on 28 May and was in judicial custody at Ghorahi Jail on charges of raping a 5-year-old girl.
