Police Officer Arun Mehta, who is currently posted in Biratnagar allegedly Threatened Journalist Jugesh Babu Das ,30, of Namo Online.com for Publishing News. Journalist Das has alleged that after he published a news report on June 3 about farmers drying maize on the road in Madhya Harsahi, Dewanganj Rural Municipality-1, Police Officer Mehta threatened him saying he would cut off his legs over the phone on June 5.
Additionally, Mehta accused him of taking money to write the news. Das filed a verbal complaint at the District Police Office on June 5, demanding action against Mehta. Suman Thapa from the District Police Office said they have received information about the threat and will call both parties to understand the incident and take further legal action.
