Ramprasad Limbu, 55, from Barahachhetra Municipality-3, sustained injuries from police gunfire on May 24. Superintendent of Police Suman Timilsina of the District Police Office, Sunsari, reported that the police opened fire while attempting to arrest Limbu on suspicion of drug trafficking. The incident occurred in the Kalindra Community Forest area.
Limbu is currently receiving medical treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Ghopma.
The police fired three rounds of gunfire, and two other drug dealers managed to escape, according to police reports.
