Disruption of Lab Services Caused Inconvenience to Patients in Jomsom

Patients at the Provincial Hospital in Jomsom, Mustang, have been facing difficulties due to a disruption in lab services for the past week. Since the machine broke down on May 10, patients have been suffering as lab services remain halted.

Dr. Samikshya Kandel, the Acting Medical Superintendent said that after the lab machine at the hospital broke down, the hospital has been unable to provide the necessary services. She stated that the machine was sent to Pokhara for repairs and is currently under maintenance, so it is uncertain when the services will resume. The hospital has been unable to provide nine main lab services, including blood sugar, urea, creatinine, LFT, uric acid, and calcium tests.

The hospital has reported that due to the machine breakdown, patients coming for services have been referred to a higher-level hospital.
