Sabina Khatun, 46, of Barhathawa Municipality-6, filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Barhathawa, on May 4, 2025, accusing Ramkishor Yadav,37, and Bibek Kumar Yadav,36, for alleging her of practicing witchcraft and beating her. The victim alleged that the accused physically and verbally abused her on April 19. The victim further alleged that the accused along with the ward members of Barhatwa Municipality-6 and 7, attempted to settle the matter through reconciliation on April 24, 2025. DSP Gautam Thapa of the Area Police Office, Barhatwa, stated that the police are investigating theincident and will take legal action against the guilty.
The woman received medical treatment at the health post in Barhathawa on April 19 and 20, and further treatment was provided at Provincial Hospital, Malangwa, on April 22 and 23. She also mentioned that her wounds were re-examined on May 5.
