The District Court sentenced 26-year-old Shravan Kumar Rana of Sitaganga Municipality-6 to 14 years in prison for the crime of raping a 17-year-old girl. District Court Information Officer Tekraj Gaire informed that the bench of Judge Shivalal Pandey, on April 29, 2025, found the accused guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in prison, imposed him a fine of Rs 540,000, and compensation of Rs 21,600 to be provided to the victim.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Thada, on August 23, stating that the accused had last raped the minor girl on February 6, 2024. Police arrested the accused on August 23. The victim underwent a medical examination at Arghakhanchi District Hospital on August 23.
