Accused Absconded Following Wife’s Killing

Padam Bahadur Tamang, 58, a resident of Khadadevi Municipality-7 in Ramechhap and currently living in Shankharapur Municipality-9, killed his 46-year-old wife, Maili Tamang, on April 20. SP Apilraj Bohara of the Kathmandu District Police Office stated that they are searching for Padam Bahadur, who absconded following the incident. He further informed that Padam had married Maili Tamang two months ago. The couple had been engaged in farming to sustain their livelihood in Shankharapur Municipality-9.

It has been reported that Maili Tamang was sleeping with her two children from her previous husband at the time of the khukuri attack. She died on the spot. Both children, aged 10 and 11, sustained injuries in the incident and were taken to the Trauma Center for treatment.

The body has been kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj for post-mortem, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
