The District Court sentenced Ram Chandan Chaudhary alias Chandan of Devchuli Municipality-2 to 12-years-imprisonment for raping a 15-year-old minor.
The bench of Nawalpur District Court Judge Kamal Prasad Gyawali on 7 April ordered the following sentence along with a fine of Rs 4,66,667 and Rs 1,00,000 as compensation to the victim. A complaint against the accused was filed at the District Police Office, Nawalpur on March 6, 2024 alleging that he had raped the victim on February 24. Subsequently, police arrested Chandan on the same day and on 1 April registered a case against him under the charge of rape .
