Police arrested Keshab Giri, 24, of Mai Municipality-2 on March 23 for raping a 13-year-old minor. The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office on March 22 alleging that the accused raped the girl on March 17. Police arrested the accused on the basis of the complaint and the investigation is ongoing. Additionally, three more individuals wewre arrested on March 23 for investigation on charges of attempting to settle a rape case by offering Rs 300,000 to the victim. The police post in Danawari arrested the accused’s father, Kedarnath Giri, 58, 43-year-old uncle, Narayan Giri, and 38-year-old neighbor, Tuladhar Aryal, on charges of facilitating the settlement of the case.
The health examination of the victim was done on March 23 at the District Hospital.
