Balmiki Sahani, 23 of Brindawan Municipality-8 was arrested by the Area Police Office, Garuda on August 13 for the charge of raping a 23-year-old woman.
DSP Rameshwar Twati informed that the aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Garuda on August 10, 2024 alleging that the accused had raped the woman on 7 August. As per DSP Twati, Sahani was arrested on the basis of the complaint, and the district court extended the investigation date for seven days.
The health examination of the victim was done on 10 August at the Provincial Hospital.
