Sarlahi District Court has sentenced 31-year-old Dilip Karki of Bagmati Municipality-1 to nine years imprisonment on August 15, 2024 for the crime of raping a 15-year-old minor.
The bench of Judge Surya Bahadur Thapa found the accused guilty and sentenced him to nine years in prison, along with a compensation of Rs 35,000 to the victim, according to Registrar Sadan Adhikari. A complaint against the accused was filed at the Malangwa District Police Office on November 23, 2023, alleging that the accused had raped the victim on October 11. The District Police Office registered the complaint on November 27.
The health examination of the victim was done on 27 November at the District Hospital, Sarlahi.
