Police arrested three individuals on July 31 for the charge of abducting a 6-year-old girl on 30 July from her maternal uncle’s house in Duhabi Municipality-10 Dumraha. Among the arrested are 50-year-old Sanjay Paswan, 50-year-old Kalananda Paswan, and 40-year-old Sarita Paswan from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-6.
The police rescued the victim on July 31 after Sanjay Paswan abducted her and kept her in a room near Manav Sewa Ashram in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-10. DSP Nabinkrishna Bhandari of the District Police Office, Sunsari, reported that the victim was found being held hostage in a rented room. The main accused, Sanjay Paswan, along with his accomplices Kalanand Paswan and Sarita Paswan, were arrested for investigation.
DSP Bhandari reported that the initial investigation found that Sanjay had a love relationship with the victim’s aunt and that he abducted the victim to take revenge after their relationship began to falter. Following the complaint filed by the aggrieved party, the District Police Offices of Sunsari and Morang, along with the Provincial Police Office, initiated a joint search for the victim.
The health examination of the victim was done on 31 July at District Hospital, Inaruwa.
