Patients have been suffering due to the unrepaired X-ray machine at Puranthati Health Post in Airawati Rural Municipality-2, which has been out of service for over two months.
Assistant Health Worker Mahendra Rawat of the Health Post informed that the X-ray machine, provided by the Lumbini Province Government, has been out of service since April 2024. As a result, patients receiving services at Puranthati Health Institution are being compelled to travel to District Hospital Bijuwar for their X-ray service.
Similarly, Kamala Pokharel, 50, of Airawati Rural Municipality-2, stated that citizens are being forced to spend high expenses at the District Hospital for treatment due to the breakdown of the X-ray machine at the Puranthati Health Post. She added that the X-ray machine had not been repaired even after two months.
Balgopal Shrestha, Chief of the Health Branch of Airawati Rural Municipality, informed us that upon learning about the X-ray machine breakdown at the health post, he promptly initiated efforts to repair it. However, it couldn’t be repaired due to the unavailability of a technician. Additionally, they are preparing to bring a technician from the Province to inspect and repair the machine. He mentioned that if the machine cannot be repaired and restored to operation, they will replace it with a new one to continue the service.
