Children of Tajakot Rural Municipality have been deprived of measles-rubella vaccination. Despite a national campaign to vaccinate children aged nine months to five years against measles-rubella, 365 out of 640 children in Tajakot Rural Municipality-1 to 5 remain unvaccinated.
Chief Administrative Officer Dhanaraj Dhakal stated that the children in Tajakot Rural Municipality were deprived of the vaccination because the district hospital only sent 275 vials of the vaccine.
Similarly, Manju Budha, a local resident, stated that the children missed out on vaccinations because the vaccines were sent in a small quantity. She emphasized that the unequal distribution of vaccinations with some children receiving them and others being deprived, reflects severe government negligence.
Prem Bahadur Singh, Chief of the Health Services Office, stated that the issue arose due to an insufficient number of vaccines sent from center outside the district. He added that this problem could not be resolved immediately.
