A complaint was filed against 30-year-old Nabaraj Malla, the husband, Anita Thapa Tamang, 42, of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-12, Aachal Tamang 21, of the same place, Aroshi Tamang,18, Mangal Tamang, 50, Pushpam Chaudhary,26, and Puja Malla, 28 on 29 May at the District Police office for beating a 32-year-old pregnant woman of Bansgadi Rural Municipality-4, Bardiya, currently residing at Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-12, Muktinagar.
DSP Narayan Dangi of the District Police Office informed INSEC that the aggrieved party filed the complaint alleging that the victim was brutally beaten up, discriminating her on the basis of caste and accusing her of practicing witchcraft on 16 May.
Dangi further added that the accused were arrested on the basis of the same complaint and further investigation is going on. The health examination of the victim is underway at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj.
