Seven Years Imprisonment for Crime of Human Trafficking

Forty-year-old Sabitri Bhnadari of Madhyabindu-9 was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for the crime of human trafficking.

According to Kamal Pariyar, Acting Information Officer of the District Police Office a case was registered against the accused in the year 2018 for the crime of human trafficking. In the same year, the court sentenced her to seven years imprisonment, a fine of Rs 50,000 and sent her to the Chitwan jail on 27 April, 2023.

However, the accused had submitted a writ to the High Court. After the High Court of Pokhara upheld the decision of the District Court, the District Police Office Nawalpur arrested Bhandari from his home on 26 April and produced him before the court on 27 April.
