Police arrested 24-year-old Bhimsen Bhatta of Bhimsenthapa Rural Municipality-2, Gorkha currently residing in Tarakeshwar Municipality-4, Kathmandu on January 22, 2024, for the charge of abusing a 22-year-old girl through social media.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Cyber Bureau of the Police Headquarters, Bhotahiti, alleging that the accused committed character assassination by using the victim’s photos from social media including Facebook and Whatsapp.
SP Pashupati Kumar Rai of Bhotahiti, Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police said that the accused was arrested from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-27 on January 21.
SP Rai informed INSEC that the bureau has extended the deadline of five days through the District Court, Kathmandu and detained the accused for five days on January 21.
