A complaint was filed at the Area Police Office, Golbazar, on December 10, 2023, accusing 29-year-old Umesh Kumar Mahato and 28-year-old Jethani Sangita Mahato of Golbazar Municipality-10 of abetment to the suicide of 20-year-old Sita Kumari Mahato.
Siyaram Mahato, the deceased’s father, stated that his daughter, who got married last April, ended her life on December 9, reportedly due to torture by the family. The post-mortem examination of the deceased was conducted on December 10 at Lahan Provincial Hospital.
DSP Rabindraraj Pandey from the District Police Office Siraha confirmed an ongoing investigation into this distressing incident.
