Medicine Shortage Creates Health Concern Within Community

There has been a shortage of medicine in the Srinagar Health Post, Adanchuli Rural Municipality-3 for two weeks. The  local consumers have to face problems due to this shortage.

A local resident Birman Budha expressed his grievance that, when he visited the health post with symptoms of headache and fever, the health workers turned him away as there was no medicine available. He questioned, regarding  the purpose of the health institution if it fails to provide essential medicines to the community.

He was forced to return home empty-handed without even basic medications like paracetamol.

Despite the increase in the number of patients in the Rural Municipalities, the beneficiaries are forced to return home empty-handed due to the lack of medicines in the health Institutes.

Prakriti Tamang, a concerned consumer, raised the issue that the majority of patients visiting the health post did not receive any medication. She complained that she had to return without even receiving the usual tincture or betadine to apply in the injury on her arm.

Hans Mahtara, the coordinator of the health branch in the Rural Municipality, mentioned that the required medication should have been available prior to Dashain. However, if it has not yet arrived, he assured that it would be arriving shortly.

Similarly, Mohan Bikram Singh the Chairperson of the Rural Municipality has responded to provide medicine immediately.
