The Himalaya Medium School in Isma Rural Municipality-1 faces risk as the road construction work is interrupted. Despite the collapsing land near the school, the students are forced to study in the unsafe buildings. The erosion resulted due to the untimely construction work.
The school teacher Man Bahadur Khatri said that the students are forced to study in fear because of this reason.
Ratchaur-Taltung-Ujungdhara-Harpukot-Nyapokhara Maidan road is being constructed near the school. However, the risk of landslides is increasing due to the fact that the wall to be built during road construction is not built on time.
Khatri stated that, there has been no response or acknowledgment regarding the issue despite his repeated efforts to bring the matter to the attention of the Rural Municipality, construction businesses, and the Infrastructure Development Office. He also reported that due to the inadequate management of construction materials, students are unable to participate in PT and morning prayers during the assemblies.
Rautaha Hari-Hari JB secured a construction contract worth Rs. 13,000,000 in the year 2041 for the upgrade of a 13 km road.
The irregular work schedule by construction contractors and negligence of the plan implementation body has led the students to study at risk.
Bibek Khatri, a student, voiced his concerns about studying during the rainy season, particularly regarding the incomplete road construction. In addition, due to the fact that the builders had stored construction materials in the sports field, the sports, PT and prayer is also disrupted.
Khatri expresses his concern that the importance of schools and the well-being of students are not adequately understood.
