All-Party Decision Made To Ease Curfew Restrictions

An all-party meeting held on October 4 has decided to ease the curfew in Nepalgunj.

The district administration office issued a curfew order from 1 am  after the clash between the Hindu and Muslim communities on  October 3.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the incident on October 3 was a matter of sensitivity. Any person who commits acts against the law, such as spreading religious hatred, inflaming social harmony through social media and other means, and harming someone’s religious beliefs, will immediately face strict actions in accordance with the law. The aim of the meeting  was to bring the current situation to a completely normal state. It has been decided to request the District Security Committee to gradually loosen the curfew order that is currently ongoing in Nepalgunj.

Similarly,Bhola Mahat, the Lumbini Provincial Coordinator of INSEC, informed that a decision has been made to organize a harmony rally involving participants from all sectors committed to preserving social harmony and preventing its degradation.

A protest rally was held by the Muslim community regarding the status written targeting the Muslim community on the social network Facebook on October 1. During the protest organized by the Hindu Omkar Samaj on October 3, clashes erupted, including stone attacks between youths from the Muslim and Hindu communities near BP Chowk, Nepalgunj sub-metropolis.
