The district court sentenced 14-year-old accused to life imprisonment on October 2 for the crime of rape of his 8-year-old sister.
Keshav Poudel, Registrar of the District Court informed that the bench of honorable Judge Dal Bahadur KC found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment with Rs. 350,000 compensation to the victim and an additional fine of Rs 30,000. The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the district police office on April 10, 2022, alleging that the accused had raped the victim girl on April 8, 2022. The police arrested the accused on the same day based on the complaint.
The District Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a case under the charge of rape against the accused on April 27, 2022. Following the district court’s order, the accused was placed in a juvenile detention center in Pokhara on April 29, 2022.
The health examination of the victim girl was done on April 10 at Damauli Hospital.
