The bench of Judge Matrika Acharya at the District Court sentenced 40-year-old Megh Bahadur Praja of Ichha Kamana Rural Municipality to life imprisonment on September 28 for the crime of rape of a 7-year-old girl. Additionally, the court ordered him to pay Rs 100,000 as compensation to the victim.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint against Praja at Area Police Office on August 5 alleging that he raped the victim on July 29, 2023.
The Health examination of the victim girl was done on August 6 at Bharatpur Hospital. Praja was arrested on August 4. He was remanded to pre-trial detention on August 15th as per the order of the District Court.
