On August 12, law enforcement authorities took into custody 23-year-old Yuvraj Mahara from Letang Municipality-5, following allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl. The victim formally lodged a complaint against the accused at the local police office in Letang on the same day, asserting that the accused had sexually assaulted her on August 5.
According to DSP Pappu Nayak of the District Police Office, the accused was apprehended from his residence to facilitate a thorough investigation into the matter, in response to the victim’s complaint.
The health examination of the young girl was conducted at Koshi Hospital on August 13.
