Lalita Bishwakarma, a 14-month-old girl from Shubhakalika Rural Municipality-8, passed away on August 6 as a result of malnutrition.
After being diagnosed with malnutrition at Rarakatiya health post, Lalita was referred to the district hospital. However, despite receiving treatment, she succumbed to malnutrition. Dr. Sanket B.K from the district hospital in Kalikot shared with the INSEC representative that the girl’s unfortunate demise was attributed to malnutrition, further exacerbated by the family’s poor financial circumstances.
The heartbroken mother, Dhankoura B.K, expressed her sorrow over her daughter’s inability to survive, even after receiving treatment for malnutrition at the district hospital starting from May 19.
