Complaint Lodged against the Husband on charge of Killing his wife

On July 24 at the District Police Office, Munidebi Khang, a 62-year-old resident of Mahadeva Rural Municipality-4, lodged a complaint against Ramrup Khanga, her 35-year-old son-in-law. The complaint accused Ramrup of killing his 30-year-old wife, Parvatidebi Khanga, in Akwarpur of Mahadeva Rural Municipality-2 on the night of July 23.

Inspector Pramod Khadka informed that in a domestic dispute, the accused attacked his wife Parvati with a stick and an iron rod, resulting in her death. He also caused severe injuries to his 62-year-old mother, Santoliyadevi Khanga.

On July 24, the body was taken to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj for a post-mortem examination. According to Ramcharitra Khanga, when the family intervened to stop the accused drug addict from leaving the house with 16,000 rupees, he attacked and injured all the family members. After committing the murder of his wife, the accused fled, but the villagers managed to apprehend him and handed him over to the police.

The hospital has reported that Santoliyadevi Khanga, the 62-year-old mother of the accused, is in a critical condition due to the attack. Due to fractured head and excessive bleeding, the victim is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Chinnamasta Hospital, Rajbiraj. As mentioned by the ICU in-charge, Aman Chaurasiya, there is urgent requirement of “O positive” blood for the patient.
