On July 23, a team led by Vice Chairperson Deepak Acharya, along with people’s representatives and Dr. Deepak Regmi from Parbat Hospital, visited the residence of 54-year-old physically challenged Man Bahadur Purja Pun in Jaljala Rural Municipality-5. The purpose of the visit was to assess and verify his disability status.
Dr. Deepak Regmi conducted a health examination of Man Bahadur Purja Pun to determine the extent and nature of his disabilities. Based on the doctor’s recommendation, Vice Chairperson Deepak Acharya stated that Pun should be provided with an identity card under category (a) to recognize his specific disability-related needs.
The team, which also included Ward Chairperson Tilak JC and ward member Tak Bahadur Pun, visited Man Bahadur’s house to ensure that he receives the necessary assistance and support. Due to his physical disability, Man Bahadur had been unable to reach the rural municipality to acquire an identity card. Consequently, he was deprived of important benefits such as social security allowances and various government services, which are available to citizens with recognized disabilities.
With the issuance of the identity card, it is expected that Man Bahadur Purja Pun will be able to access the essential services and support offered by the government, thus improving his quality of life and well-being.
