On July 22, a complaint was lodged at the district police office against 23-year-old Rahul Harijan, a resident of Kothimai Rural Municipality-2 Basantapu, accusing him of rape of a 22-year-old woman.
DSP Shyamu Aryal of the District Police Office confirmed that an investigation is currently underway based on the complaint, alleging that the accused committed the rape on June 19.
The victim is scheduled to undergo a medical examination at Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa, on July 21 to provide crucial evidence for the investigation.
