On July 21, the police arrested 27-year-old Naresh Tamang from Palungtar Municipality-6, on the charge of rape of a 30-year-old woman. The victim’s relatives submitted a written complaint to the district police office on the same day, alleging that the accused had committed the rape on July 19.
Ramesh Kumar Shrestha, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office in Gorkha, confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused at the District Court Gorkha on July 23, with the charge of rape.
To gather vital evidence and assess the extent of harm inflicted on the victim, a medical examination of the woman was conducted on July 20 at Gorkha Hospital.
