On July 17, the police arrested four individuals in connection with the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl. The arrested individuals are identified as 40-year-old Tekraj Pokharel, also known as Kailash, 24-year-old Sudip Bhujel, 22-year-old Manoj Vishwakarma, and 21-year-old Dipesh Subedi, all from Kanchanrup Municipality-12, Dharmapur Tole.
DSP Deepak Kumar Rai of the District Police Office in Kanchanrup confirmed the arrests and stated that the investigation is currently underway, with a focus on the alleged mastermind behind the rape incident.
According to the victim, the accused entered her residence on the night of July 14, forcibly took control of her, and transported her to an uninhabited house where she was subjected to gang rape. The victim further revealed that three other individuals took turns raping her under the direction of a hotelier. On July 17, the victim underwent a medical examination at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj.
The victim also shared that the accused individuals assaulted her male friend, who had visited her on the night of July 14, and took photographs of them together. The victim explained that the perpetrators confined her boyfriend in one room and her sister and mother in another room. They then lured her to an abandoned house located approximately 50 meters away from her residence. The house had been rendered uninhabitable. It was in that house where she was raped.
The victim, who is currently experiencing physical numbness throughout her body, is unable to move independently as a result of the incident.
