On June 26, in the Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-7 Chapchachaur of Gulmi, a 28-year-old individual named Bimal Hamal was arrested by the police on the grounds of allegedly committing the act of rape against a 20-year-old woman. Subsequently, on July 11, the victim lodged a formal complaint at the District Police Office in Baglung, asserting that the incident had taken place on June 10.
DSP Madan KC of the Baglung District Police Office has confirmed the arrest of the accused, made in response to the victim’s complaint, in order to initiate an investigation. The Baglung District Court has granted an extension of five days to probe the charges of rape against the accused, Hamal. On July 11, the victim underwent a medical examination at Dhaulagiri Hospital Baglung to assess her physical condition.
