The police arrested Binod Shakya, 48, of Beas Municipality-2, on May 17, 20 years after the court indicted him on rape charges.
The Tahanun District Court found Shakya guilty and sentenced him to five years imprisonment, on October 15, 2003, while he was absconding.
DSP Mohan Bahadur Khan, Information Officer of the District Police Office, informed that he was arrested at his residence.
Police brought Shakya to the Tanahun District Court on May 17, where the court sent him to Tanahun Prison Office to serve the prescribed five-year imprisonment.
