Counting Votes Starts after Three Points Agreement

The counting of votes of Chitwan Constituency no 2, for by-elections held on April 23, 2023,  has started after a three points agreement at the all-party meeting.

Assistant Election Officer Ishwar Acharya informed that the counting of votes started at 2 pm after the agreement. The agreement was finalized in a meeting held on April 24, regarding the code of conduct violation. The parties decided to send a complaint to the Election Commission, to take necessary action regarding the violation and to proceed with the vote counting.

The representative of Nepali Congress candidate Jit Narayan Shrestha, Dhrawaraj Pokharel, filed a complaint at the election officer’s office on April 23, saying that the election code of conduct was violated during the election day.
