The Chief Electoral Officer’s office has demanded an explanation from Ravi Lamichhane, the candidate of the Rastriya Swantantra Party, regarding the violation of the code of conduct during the by-elections Chitwan Constituency no. 2 held on April 23, 2023.
Ishwar Acharya, Assistant Election Officer of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, said that the office, sought an explanation regarding campaigning stunts to promote his election symbol and rallying for soliciting votes through Facebook Live during the election.
He said that Lamichhane submitted a reply, which was sent to the Election Commission on April 23.
