Upendra Yadav, candidate of Janata Samajwadi Party of Bara constituency number 2, was accused of promoting his election campaign in violation of the code of conduct of elections.
The election code of conduct, enforced from 7 April 2023, states that the candidates and parties are prohibited to wear logos of their election symbol. Yadav was using materials consisting of election symbols during his election campaign.

The election team of Yadav had arranged a breakfast program for one thousand people on the occasion of New Year on 15 April 2023, in Municipality-8 Bajopatti. After the event, they tied flags consisting of the Election symbol on the umbrellas, motorcycles, and four-wheel vehicles of the individuals present in the program.

According to Monitoring Officer, Harikrishna Baral, the rally with the logo started at Pacharuta Municipaity-8 Bajopatti, the group was going to Benauli via Kudwa and traveling to Pacharuta’s Yali from Bawahi Goth of Suvarna Rural municipality. Monitoring officer of the committee Harikrishna Baral said. The action was in violation of rule number 17 of paragraph 4 of the Election Code of Conduct.
Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Upadhyay requested all the candidates to be responsible, as the candidates who do not follow the code of conduct will be punished.
