Sarlahi District Court has sentenced 31-year-old Suwodh Mahara of Kavilasi Municipality-8 to eight years imprisonment, on 14 March 2023, on the charge of rape of a 17-year-old girl.
Registrar Bishwanath Aryal of District Court Sarlahi Malangwa informed that the bench of Judge Mr. Kaviprasad Neupane gave the final verdict of eight years of imprisonment and Rs. 1, 00,000 as compensation to the victim.
The victim filed a complaint at the Malangwa District Police Office on 27 July 2021 accusing Yadav of rape on 1 September 2021.
The health examination of the victim girl was done on 1 September 2021 at Sarlahi District Hospital, Malangwa.
