District Court of Sarlahi rendered a verdict imposing eight years of imprisonment to Birendra Sahani, 28, of Ishworpur Municipality-2, on 27 February in the charge of rape of a 16-year-old girl.
Registrar of the Court, Bishwonath Aryal informed that the bench of Judge Ramesh Kant Adhikari conviceted the accused and imposed eight years of imprisonmet and ordered the accused to pay NPR. 50,000 to the victim.
Aggrieved party had filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Malangwa on 23 October 2022 alleging that the accused rape the victim on 20 September the same year.
Medical examination of the victim was conducted at Sarlahi District Hospital, Malanngwa on 24 October 2022.
