Dhanrashi BK, 28, originally from Lamjung District and currently residing in Tansen–4, has been sentenced to 21 years in jail by the District Court Palpa for raping a 17-year-old girl.
A bench of Judge Hari Prasad Sharma Upadhyay on June 23, 2026, found the accused guilty and sentenced him to 21 years’ imprisonment, imposed a fine of Rs. 600,000, and ordered him to pay Rs—100,000 in compensation to the survivor, according to Court Registrar Keshav Parajuli.
The survivor’s side had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on August 8, 2025, alleging that the accused had raped the girl on August 5, 2025. Police arrested the accused from Tansen on the same day the complaint was filed.
A bench of the then District Court Judge Dal Bahadur KC on September 1, 2025, had ordered the accused to remain in judicial custody pending trial. The survivor underwent a medical examination at Palpa Hospital on August 8, 2025.
