Three people were injured when a clash broke out between local residents and security personnel during a raid conducted by a joint team from the District Administration Office, Nepal Police, and the Armed Police Force at Dinkar Sales Suppliers, located in Krishna Chowk of Malangawa Municipality–2, on June 18, 2026. The injured have been identified as Jay Shankar Kumar Mahato, 23, of the same locality, Pravin Kumar Yadav, 28, and Arvind Kumar Yadav, 25, of Bhediyahi, Malangawa Municipality-1. The injured were treated at the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa.
Acting on special intelligence received from the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 2 Chhinnamasta Brigade Headquarters in Mahottari, a team from Armed Police Force Nepal No. 10 Battalion, Sarlahi, had raided Dinkar Sales Suppliers, owned by Nabin Kumar Yadav, on the night of June 17. During the operation, 75 sacks of illegally imported pumpkin seeds were seized. Police said the clash erupted after local residents gathered and pelted stones at the security personnel. DSP Bed Prasad Gautam stated that the Armed Police Force fired two rounds of tear gas shells to bring the situation under control. DSP Gautam further informed that the seized pumpkin seeds had been handed over to the Sarlahi Customs Office in Malangawa for further investigation and legal action.
