Four people who were injured in a clash during a border dispute at Rani Sain in Himlai Rural Municipality, Humla, have been rescued by helicopter.
While a temporary police post was being constructed at Lamptata in Himali Rural Municipality-3, locals from Thali in Kharpunath Rural Municipality-2 of Humla attacked the site. Six people were injured in the incident. Among the injured were the Chief Administrative Officer of Himali Rural Municipality, Kul Bahadur Thapa, Ward No. 3 member Pema Gara Gurung, his wife Laxmi Gurung, resident Minu Kunwar, and Nara Bahadur Gurung, as well as Police Assistant Head Constable Mahesh Dhami, who was deployed at the Wichchhya police post, according to Inspector Naresh Bahadur Shahi of the District Police Office.
Among the injured, four people were airlifted by helicopter to the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet, Karnali Province, Chief District Officer Doreendra Niraula told Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS). According to him, the rescue was carried out using a private company helicopter, with expenses covered by the rural municipality itself.
Those rescued by helicopter include Ward No. 3 member Pema Gara Gurung, his wife Laxmi Gurung, residents Minu Kunwar and Nara Bahadur Gurung.
There had been a dispute between the two sides earlier on May 17, 2026.
