Anand Thapa Magar, 41, who had escaped from Nakkhu Jail, has been arrested by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, according to Gautam Mishra, Information Officer and SP of the District Police Range Lalitpur.
Magar, who had been sent to prison for pretrial detention in a drug-related case, had escaped from the jail on September 9, 2025, during the Gen-Z protest.
Police said that Thapa, a resident of Bouddha, Kathmandu, has been sent to the Central Jail Jagannath Deval.
