Kapilvastu’s Maharajganj Municipality–2, Bargad, on March 21, during the control of a clash between the local communities, Jitendra Yadav, 22, also known as Arun, was injured by police gunfire and, according to DSP Ripendrakumar Singh of the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, died on April 6, while undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
The victim’s family has staged a sit-in at the District Administration Office, Kapilvastu, maintaining the stance that the body kept at Kapilvastu Hospital, Taulihawa, will not be handed over until judicial compensation is received.
