A three-member investigation committee has been formed under the coordination of SP Anil Karki of the Armed Police Force No. 7 Baidyanath Battalion to ascertain the facts of the incident after a video of the attack on DSP Pradip Poudel, who is stationed at the Armed Police Force unit at Khakraula border checkpoint in Tikapur Municipality-9, went viral on social media, according to SSP Digvijay Subedi of the battalion.
DSP Pradip Poudel stated that he is preparing to file a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Tikapur, claiming that local youths and traders entered the Armed Police Force unit and assaulted him on March 18.
DSP Nabin Raj Budhathoki of the Area Police Office, Tikapur, said that since the incident is still under investigation, it is not appropriate to disclose all details at this stage.
During the seizure of goods illegally brought from India, local youths and traders allegedly entered the unit premises and assaulted personnel while discussions were being held with the Tikapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry on March 18.
DSP Yogendra Timilsina of the District Police Office, Kailali, stated that no official information or report regarding the incident has been received, so nothing further can be confirmed at this time.
